Youth Improvement Services is collaborating with organizations in Tampa, Florida and around the country to make a difference in the lives of youth and young adults who are experiencing homelessness.
In Florida, an average of 31,030 people experience homelessness on any given night. Around 1,892 of these people are likely between the ages of 18-24 years old and have either been rejected by loved ones, aged out of foster care, or run away from a previous residence for their own reasons. At Youth Improvement Services, we're providing youth and young adults with a support system that genuinely cares about their well-being.
Our trauma-informed programs are positioned to be most accessible to young people who otherwise would be swept into the criminal justice system or be affected by chronic homelessness due to a lack of opportunities. We provide case management and resource navigation to youth remotely. This enables us to continuously expand our network of community partners who work with us to make a direct impact on the lives of young people who are experiencing homelessness. We offer safe, compassionate, and inclusive services that are designed to catapult our clients into a thriving adulthood.
We focus on 18 to 24 year old youth of color and youth who identify as LGBTQ, since they disproportionately experience homelessness, poverty and marginalization.
